How HomeGoSmart works

Smarter home projects, before you hire.

Built so homeowners stay informed and in control — and contractors get better-fit opportunities instead of random shared leads.

For homeowners

Three steps for homeowners

01

Check or post — phone optional

Submit a quote for a 0–100 clarity check, or post your project privately. No account, no phone required.

  • Upload or paste a roofing quote — get a clarity score, missing items, and red flags instantly.
  • Post your project with photos, budget, and timeline — choose your own privacy level.
  • Phone is never required until you explicitly opt in to vendor contact.
02

Review your results

Get a clear score, the exact questions to ask before signing, and a project readiness score that helps vendors quote accurately.

  • Quote clarity score shows which of 10 roofing items are missing or flagged as risks.
  • Project readiness score tells you what additional detail would help vendors give accurate quotes.
  • Use the Repair or Replace tool for a rule-based recommendation with transparent reasoning.
03

Connect only when you choose

Your contact info stays yours until you decide who sees it. Every release is logged.

  • Choose one of four privacy levels: keep private, share email only, share phone with vendors you select, or let HomeGoSmart coordinate.
  • When you're ready, our team reviews fit-scored vendors and sends opportunities to those you approve.
  • Every contact release event is logged with your consent record — auditable for you and for us.
For contractors

Three steps for vendors

Better-fit home project opportunities, not random shared leads.

01

Define your criteria upfront

Set your service area, accepted job types, minimum project value, and availability — we only match against those criteria.

  • List the ZIP codes and cities you serve.
  • Specify repairs vs. replacements, minimum project value, emergency availability.
  • Upload past work photos that help establish your fit score.
02

See fit-scored opportunities

Each opportunity comes with a 0–100 Vendor Fit Score across 9 criteria — fully inspectable before you accept.

  • Score breaks down: category, service area, job type, budget, timeline, emergency fit, portfolio, verification, response speed.
  • 85+ Excellent · 70–84 Strong · 55–69 Possible · <55 Not recommended.
  • You see the project before any homeowner contact info is shared.
03

Accept or decline — you're in control

Accept the opportunity. Homeowner contact is only released after they approve you.

  • Accept, decline, or request more info on each opportunity.
  • Homeowner reviews your fit and approves the contact release — they choose who gets their number.
  • No random shared leads. No upfront subscriptions during the pilot.

Our principles

Phone shared only with consent

Your phone number is never released to vendors unless you explicitly approve it.

Value before contact

You see your quote checklist or project readiness score before we ask for personal details.

Manual, not automated

Every project and vendor is reviewed by our team. No public marketplace, no random shared leads.

Transparent scoring

Quote clarity, project readiness, and vendor fit are all rule-based and inspectable.
